Dell initially debut the Latitude 7285 at CES in January. It is the first 2-in-1 tablet with wireless charging and is now available for purchase directly from Dell at $1199. The USP of the device is the wireless charging. This feature relies on magnetic resonance tech developed by WiTricity. This allows for wireless charging via combination of detachable keyboard and charging mat. So, you just need to place the Dell Latitude 7285 and keyboard on the mat. It will begin charging automatically and wirelessly.

Elegant Look

It is the first WiTricity-enabled consumer device that charges wirelessly at a distance. It uses magnetic resonance technology and can both charge devices at a distance as well as via materials. The device feels solid to hold with an exceptional magnesium build quality. The thin border and elegant display adds an amazing finish to your work. This 2-in-1 device lets you easily do transition between four modes: tent, slate, tablet and laptop. It easily works at your desk, with coworkers and on the run.

Display and Processor

The Latitude 7285 packs in a 12-inch IGZO display with resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels. Under the shell, it is powered by Intel’s latest 7th-generation Kaby Lake processor coupled with 8GB or 16GB of RAM. The Intel Core processor provides you plenty of power to master your longest workday. The storage options are available in up to 512GB of SSD storage. One can also expand it further via microSD card. The laptop runs Windows-Hello compatible with a built-in IR camera.

Camera and Battery

The Dell Latitude 7285 tablet includes a 34Wh battery. It comes with an 8MP rear camera, a 720p front camera and an IR camera with Windows Hello support. The laptop comes with support for an optional Dell Active Pen. It includes two Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C ports. The tablet measures 10.8″ x 8.2″ x 0.28″ and weighs about 1.5 pounds.

Pricing Details

Touted as the world’s thinnest and lightest Windows based 2-in-1 tablet, Dell Latitude 7285, is now available for purchase for $1199 in US. The optional charging mat and compatible detachable keyboard dock cost extra $199 and $379 respectively. A standard detachable keyboard dock without any charging features retails for $249.
