Essential Phone has been announced by the man behind Android, Andy Robin. The smartphone comes with a bold design, bezel-free screen and some modular features. It is now up for pre-order in US for the price of $699 and can be purchased from Amazon. Here, we take a look at its features:

Display and Design

Essential Phone flaunts a 5.71-inch 2560 x 1312 pixels edge-to-edge display with no bezel. The company is calling it as ‘Full Display’ and the small bezels help to keep it comfortably fit in your hands despite being big size. The display comes with an aspect ratio of 19: 10. As far as the design is concerned, it features a combination of ceramic and titanium. The phone comes in black moon or pure white colors, with stellar grey and ocean depths shades releasing soon.

Camera

The Essential Phone features dual 13MP f/1.85 cameras with one color lens and one monochrome lens. It has the thinnest dual camera system and the two lenses combine to capture up to 200% more light as compared to the traditional phone cameras. At the front, it has an 8MP camera. Both rear and front cameras are capable of shooting videos in 4K.

Battery

In terms of battery life, Essential Phone has a 3040mAh battery. It also supports fast charging via USB Type-C port. One feature where Essential Phone stands out is the hardware attachments. This adds extra functionality to the phone. Just like iPhone 7, it does not have 3.5mm headphone port.

Processor

Under the hood, it is powered by flagship Snapdragon 835 chipset octa-core with four cores running at 2.45GHz and four at 1.9GHz. The phone houses 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and runs Android.

Connectivity

The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, 3G and 4G. The sensors on the phone are compass magnetometer, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, barometer and proximity sensor.
