Ecobee4 with Built-in Alexa Unveiled
Though there are a lot of smart thermostats available in the market but the latest one unveiled by Ecobee comes with attractive set of features. It is called as Ecobee4 and stands out from the competition by including built-in microphone. It also accepts voice commands via Amazon Alexa assistant. Priced at$249, it is currently available for pre-order at Amazon but shipment begins May 15.
Alexa Voice Service
With built-in Amazon Alexa Voice Service, Ecobee4 beautifully combines smart thermostat functionality and voice assistance in a product. This allows one to easily manage their home’s comfort and busy lives. For example, you can ask the smart thermostat to adjust the temperature of your room. Thanks to the far-field voice recognition, it is capable of responding to voice commands. It is even able of hearing Alexa commands from across the room.
Room Sensor Technology
The smart thermostat is also compatible with the room sensor technology. It detects when people are around and when not and accordingly changes the temperature for your comfort. The thermostat comes with a separate room sensor that you can place in another section of your house to monitor locations.
Companion App
The gadget also includes a touchscreen and companion app and thus, you need not to rely on voice controls.
You can use the Ecobee4 to set timer, play news and control other devices as well. It also works with Apple HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings and IFTTT.
