Meet World’s Largest USB Flash Drive
Kingston has this time come up with world’s largest USB flash drive. It comes with a huge capacity of 2TB. Yes, you read it right! It is a massive 2TB flash drive. Called as Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate GT, it is the world’s highest capacity USB flash drive and comes in 1TB and 2TB storage offerings. It is a great choice when one wants to transport large amounts of data without relying on cloud storage or hard drives.
“Power users will have the ability to store massive amounts of data in a small form factor, including up to 70 hours of 4K video on a single 2TB drive. DataTraveler Ultimate GT offers superior quality in a high-end design as it is made of a zinc-alloy metal casing for shock resistance. Its compact size gives the tech enthusiast or professional user an easily portable solution to store and transfer their high capacity files,” says Kingston.
Compatibility
The new drive is USB 3.1 Gen 1 compatible and thus, comes with excellent read/write performance. At CES 2017, the company announces DataTraveler Ultimate Generation Terabyte. This flash drive packs an insane 2TB of storage in a streamlined design. The two new flash drives offer USB 3.1 Gen 1 performance which allows up to 5Gbps transfer speeds. The models can handle drastic temperatures spanning as low as -13F and as high as 140F or -40F to 185F storage temperature.
Shock-Resistance
In addition to the massive storage capacity, the flash drive features a shock-resistant zinc-alloy metal casing. This ensures that your 4K footage is safely stored. Its casing provides for shock resistance and features a similar design to the DataTraveler HyperX Predator 512GB and 1TB flash drives which were introduced in the year 2013. According to the company, it can store up to 70 hours of 4K video, 96 average-sized PC games, 500,000 MP3 files and 256,000 24-megapixel pictures.
Other Details
The flash drive also comes with a five-year warranty and free technical support. Though the price has not been released yet, but they are expected to cost over $1,000. The DataTraveler Ultimate GT ships in February and will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacities.
