Here’s ZTE Axon 7
ZTE has officially announced the Axon 7, the successor to last year’s flagship. ZTE had surprised everyone with all-metal Android phone with good specs at just $450. It has now come with its follow-up to take on much more expensive smartphones. This new smartphone comes with high-end specifications along with a budget-friendly price. It addresses the issues of design and storage of its predecessor and is a powerful competitor to the popular Android flagship smartphone offered at high prices. Here’s a closer look at ZTE Axon 7.
Display
ZTE Axon 7 comes with 5.5-inch display and features curved edges. It is light and feels natural in the hands. It comes with 1080p AMOLED display with a quad-HD 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. The company also says that the phone is built with Google’s Daydream VR platform in mind. It is slimmer, sleeker and more refined as compared to the original Axon Pro. It comes with a smooth metal finish with perfectly placed camera lens.
Processor
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor at 2.2GHz coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded for up to 128GB via microSD card. The inclusion of additional storage is a huge improvement over the predecessor that included 32GB of non-upgradable storage.
Camera
In terms of camera, the ZTE Axon 7 packs a 20 MP shooter on the rear and an 8 MP camera on the front. The rear camera comes with optical image stabilization and an f/1.8 lens for low-light performance. The camera is also capable of shooting 4K videos at 30 FPS and 240 FPS slow motion at 720p.
Battery
ZTE Axon 7 comes with 3140mAh battery. The phone also comes with quick charging via USB Type C. The company claims that the phone should get 50% of the battery replenished in just 30 minutes while the full charge takes an hour and 40 minutes. But, it does not support wireless charging like Galaxy S7.
Audio
The company also included a dedicated audio chipset for Hi-Fi audio playback. There are two microphones that can record audio from up to 23 feet away. A high-quality DAC inside the phone supports 24-bit/96kHz audio. The smartphone comes packed in Dolby Atmos headphone support to let you hear audio in virtual surround sound. While most smartphones fall short in the field of audio performance, Axon 7 impresses us with such audio quality.
Availability
Axon 7 will be available via ZTE’s official website and is expected to work with most U.S. carrier. The phone will cost $450 which makes it truly a flagship killer. The smartphone is a part of Axon Passport 2.0 program which includes a two-year warranty, free two-way shipping and two-year accidental damage. In case of theft or lose of phone, Passport 2.0 will also give $100 to customers.
