Huawei P9 and P9 Plus
At a launch event, Huawei has unveiled its latest flagship smartphones called Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. This Chinese manufacturer is offering interesting technology packed into its new P9 range of smartphones. Let’s check out its features:
Display and Design
The P9 sports 5.2-inch edge-to-edge display while P9 Plus has a 5.5 inch display. These smartphones are made of aluminum and have narrow bezels around their screens. The screens are protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The P9 will be available in four colors: rose gold, prestige gold, titanium grey and mystic silver while the P9 Plus will be available in haze gold, ceramic white and a quartz grey color. The P9 measures 145 x 70.9 x 6.95mm and weighs 144g and P9 Plus measures 152.3 x 75.3 x 6.98mm and weighs 162g.
Hardware
In terms of hardware, both Huawei P9 and P9 Plus are powered by the same Kirin 955 chipset based on TSMC 16nm FinFET Plus chip technology. The graphics are Mali T-880. According to the company, CPU runs 100% faster than the chip used in P8 and 3D graphics are now 125% faster.
Cameras
Camera is the feature for which there’s lot of hype around. Both phones come with two cameras that Huawei created with Leica, a renowned camera brand. There’s one camera on the phone that takes pictures in color (a full RBG sensor) and the other one takes pictures in black and white (a monochrome sensor). This helps users to get higher quality pictures irrespective of the lightening conditions.
The Huawei P9 has a dual 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, Lecia SUMMARIT lenses, 1.25-micron pixel sizes, and dual-tone LED flash. There’s an 8MP camera on the front for selfie lovers. Huawei has included a manual camera mode which gives photographers better control over ISO, exposure and shutter speed.
Commendable Features
Both smartphones come with many cool features like all-metal frames, fast charging technology and have 32GB or 64GB of storage space. There’s an improved fingerprint sensor positioned on the back of the smartphone for easy reach. While P9 houses 3,000mAh battery, the P9 Plus has a bigger 3,400mAh battery.
