Meet Bing app for iOS and Android
Microsoft is trying to make its Bing app for iOS and Android more useful and powerful by adding additional features. Whether you shop or travel, Bing app will now help you to save money. Let’s have a look at the newly added features and functionalities to the Microsoft’s Bing app.
Introduction of Barcode Scanner
From now on, Android users will now have access to the barcode scanner. It was released for iOS users in December. This barcode scanner allows you to compare the price of the product in a store with prices at online retailers. To scan, android users need to long press on the search icon and then select the camera that appears. When one scans a product using this feature, the Bing app will display its price along with customer ratings from major retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target.
A Dedicated Deals Section
Bing has taken deal finding to another level. The deals would appear directly in the search results. For example, when you search for a restaurant, the new app allows you to browse deals right from the homepage of the app. The deals tab pops up coupons for places like Domino’s, Subway and more. you can browse deals in specific categories as well and when found a good deal, one can follow the instructions to redeem it.
Gas Prices
With GasBuddy and Bing Local, the Bing app brings the current gas prices at nearby pumps. You can either search for gas or can access the gas option from the “Near Me” option.
When you search for some city, it will display a few travel tips, nearby news, a list of hotel apps, some local information and more. You can also activate voice search and scroll through points of interests such as movie theatres, restaurants and other things to do in that city.
Wrapping Up
It remains to see whether the new and updated Bing app for iOS and Android will be able to convince users to switch from Google’s default search experience but the app is really worth taking a look at. Bing has added the feature called recipe badges recently.
