The All-New Xperia X Series
Under the new Sony Xperia X Series, Sony launched Xperia X, Xperia A Performance and Xperia XA smartphones at MWC 2016. LG has also unveiled LG G5 modular design smartphone at the same event. Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO at Sony Mobile Communications said, “Sony Mobile will continue to create increasingly personalised and intelligent products and services that empower you to do more, and live more creatively than ever. Our products and services will connect you to each other and become essential and beloved parts of your lives.”
The all new three Xperia X smartphones will be available in White, Graphite Black, Rose Gold and Lime Gold colors. The re-imagined Xperia brand will bring increasingly intelligent products to enrich everyday life.
Sony Xperia X and X Performance
All three smartphones of Xperia X series feature 5” screens and the traditional sleek design has been changed with a metal back. The phones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the only differences between Xperia X and Xperia X Performance is the chipset, battery and water proofing certifications. While Xperia X comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset, the X Performance houses Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset. Xperia X comes with 2620mAh battery and the X Performance comes with 2700mAh battery.
Both phones sport a 5-inch IPS LCD display but X Performance comes with IP68 certification. The phones come with 3GB of RAM. In terms of camera, both come with 23MP rear camera and a 13MP front facing camera.
Sony Xperia XA
It comes with an edge-to-edge display and the edges are rounded. Sony Xperia XA comes with a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display and thanks to its rounded edges; it sits nicely in your palm. It houses MediaTek Helio P10 chipset along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 200GB via microSD. On the camera front, it comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front facing camera. Sony Xperia XA is powered by a 2300mAh battery. There are no price details available as of now.

Sony has confirmed that the Xperia X Series devices will start shipping in Summer 2016.
