iOS 9 has brought new features to Apple devices both in the initial released and subsequent updates. It is now working on Apple iOS 9.3, the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS and has been seeded to the developers. Let’s have a look at key features of this update.
Apple iOS 9.3
1) Night Shift
This is the most prominent feature that comes with iOS 9.3 update. It aims at reducing the amount of blue light emitted by the device’s screen. Apple is adding support for smart screen filtering. It uses a combination of the clock and geolocation to track sunset times and move the display color from blue to yellow in darker environments. Switching from bright white and blue undertones to warmer colors is said to be easier on the eyes.
2) Notes
This is another great feature in iOS 9.3. One can use Touch ID or password to protect notes. This adds a new layer of security and makes private notes safer. Notes is the built-in note taking tool for iOS and Mac OS and allows users to lock entries that contain sensitive data such as financial details or medical data and more.
3) Quick Actions
With iOS 9.3, there are new 3D Touch options for Apple’s stock apps such as Weather, Settings, Compass and Health. You can also duplicate photos in the Photos app when you want to keep the copy. Apple’s native Weather app provides quick access to users’ most frequently checked cities. In the first beta, developers can quickly access Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Battery and Set Wallpaper by firmly pressing the icon.
4) Smart Education Tools
iPads can be incredible teaching tools with features in iOS 9.3. The Classroom app helps teachers to deliver lesson plans and track their student’s progress. iPad multi-user support enables students to log onto any iPad and get full access to their apps, documents, books and more.
5) News App
News app gets more personal with Apple iOS 9.3 update and shows you stories that are more tailored to your interests. It can suggest new topics or publisher channels. The stories are built in Apple news formats but retain the look of each separate publisher. The app also gets performance updates and it will load faster.
6) Health
Health now links to third-party apps and also reflects the Apple Watch’s move, exercise and stand data. Apple’s Health app icon can be used to quickly access Show Dashboard and Show Medical ID. The Health app now shows your move, exercise and stand data in addition to your goals from Apple Watch.
7) CarPlay
Last but not the least, CarPlay gets upgrades and you will get to browse suggested songs and artists in Apple Music. New and For You suggestions from Apple Music will be displayed on head unit’s screen and the Nearby service will inform the driver of car parks, restaurants, and other significant locations nearby.
