The Kangaroo Mobile Desktop from InFocus has been launched to offer functionality of a Windows 10 PC on the move. InFocus calls it “the world’s smallest personal, powerful, portable PC.” Kangaroo is a powerful Windows 10 portable PC that goes anywhere and works with any screen.
Kangaroo – The Ultimate Mobile Desktop
This mobile desktop comes in a small, aluminum-clad package and works even with your iPad. This pocket-sized device when attached to any screen, keyboard or monitor becomes a fully functional desktop PC with Windows 10.
Talking about its specifications, it measures 124mm tall, 80.5mm wide and 12.9mm thick and has a weight of 200g. This black satin aluminum device is powered by an Intel Cherrytrail SOC, 2GB RAM and has 32GB of storage and is expandable via microSD card. There’s a removable base unit with an HDMI port, two USB ports and a DC power port. It comes with a battery as well and the company claims that it can keep the device ticking for four hours under casual use. On the software front, the Kangaroo runs Windows 10. The mini-PC features Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity.
Users can simply connect a Kangaroo Dock to existing screens and devices from PC monitors and big screen TVs to projects and iPad. Only two cables are needed, an HDMI cable to connect to display and the power code.
Lawrence Yen, director of Kangaroo product marketing, said, “Consumers own many different devices including tablets, laptops and desktop PCs. Each device is used in different locations for different purposes. Kangaroo is the first product to allow you to use the same PC for all applications, in any environment.” “Unlike stick PCs and other pocket PCs, Kangaroo works with all of your existing devices and can be docked at home or tossed in your bag to use anywhere, powering and providing Windows 10 access on the go,” he added.
