Taiwan based Asus has unveiled VivoBook 4K laptop which is capable of delivering stunning 4K/UHD (ultra-high definition) visuals with a resolution of 3840 x 21600 pixels. This new high-end laptop runs Windows 10 OS and comes with an IPS panel having a pixel density of 282ppi and viewing angles of 178-degrees.
Display and Processor
The laptop will be available in 5th and 6th generation Intel Core i7 core processors. It comes with 15.6-inch screen (16:9) IPS display and incorporates Nvidia GeForce 940M graphics card for gaming. Its 4K display incorporates ASUS Eye Care mode to reduce blue-light levels by 33 percent to offer a comfortable viewing experience to the user. VivoBook 4K users can also enjoy 4K/UHD clips and videos as well.
Storage
The laptop comes with 8GB RAM with expansion slots for up to 12GB RAM. The storage options cover 500GB HDD, 1TB HDD, 1.5TB HDD and 2TB HDD space. The laptop weighs 2.3kg and has 2W stereo speakers and a front VGA camera for video calling. The VivoBook screen corrects color temperatures and optimizes visual settings. There are three preset modes: vivid for movies and photos, manual mode for full user control and normal for daily productivity.
Performance
The device can be configured to have a standard hard disk or a Solid State Drive (SSD) for better performance. It comes with a super-multi DVD player, a 3-in-1 card reader, a VGA camera, two USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0 port. It comes in several color options like Icicle Gold, Glacier Grey, Black and Navy Blue. The keyboard is surrounded by durable sand-blasted metal surfaces and the power button comes with spun-metal finish.
Availability and Pricing
The company has not unveiled the retail price or availability of laptop yet.
