Micromax has launched the second generation of the popular Canvas Knight dubbed Canvas Knight 2. This Android 5.0 Lollipop-based smartphone comes equipped with an internal storage of 16GB. The device will be available across India from June 10 onwards. The company has tied up with Airtel to give free 4G SIM and 4G double data offers to the subscribers.
The most attractive feature of this dual-SIM smartphone is that both Nano-SIM card slots support 4G connectivity. The company promises better audio output by Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 mobile chipset integrated in the mobile.
The impressively designed Canvas Knight 2 comes with a body of glass and heart of steel. Corning Gorilla Glass on both sides, the device is available in White and Gold and White and Silver color combinations.
Vineet Taneja, Chief Executive Officer, Micromax Informatics said,“With the launch of our new device Canvas Knight 2, the first in the 4G range, we are looking at driving the next wave of internet evolution in the country. Over the next few months, we are all set to launch a series of 4G LTE enabled devices across a range of price points each addressing unique needs of the Indian consumer.”
The Canvas Knight 2 features a 5 inch HD (1280 X 720 pixels) AMOLED display and is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor and clocked at 1.5 GHz.
The processors are coupled to 2GB of DDR3 RAM with 16GB of on-board storage memory. The SD card slot supports cards of up to 32GB. The smartphone comes with a 2260 mAh battery which is good for seven hours of talk time and 335 hours of standby time.
In terms of camera, the Canvas Knight 2 features a 13MP primary camera at the rear and its front facing unit has 5MP resolution. It comes pre-installed with apps like App Center, Quikr, Newshunt, CleanMaster, and more.
The smartphone with 4G support is available at Rs. 16,299 in India. This new weapon by Micromax serves as the boundary of both midrange and high-end groups. The affordable price tag is a great plus for the Indian consumers.
