Since the launch of Gmail, Google always strive to provide better and more user-friendly experience. It works to make sorting of emails easy and automated. Google Inbox has recently been launched by Google to help you handle emails more efficiently. It is available as an Android and iOS app as well as through the Google Chrome browser.
Here are the interesting things that you should know about Google Inbox:
1) Inbox is by invitation only
Yes, you read it right! Inbox is only available by invitation. You can check with friends to see if anyone has an invitation to send you or other option is to email inbox@google.com to ask for invitation.
2) Interesting Names
Google Inbox has many features that are similar to Gmail but they have different names. In place of Gmail’s Delete, Google Inbox has Move to Trash and Report Spam is Move to Spam. With Inbox, you can mark any email as Done and this feature is similar to archive. Marking a conversation as Done does not delete it, but moves it out of your inbox and moves it in the Done folder. Like Gmail has starring, Inbox comes with Pinning.
3) Modern and Colorful
Inbox is modern, clean, and an intuitive interface where your messages are grouped by date. It organizes your messages into bundles, like Social, Promotions, and Finance. Also, the important details like event information, pictures emailed by friends etc. are highlighted. It lets you control and have an inbox in the way you want it to be.
4) Use Snooze to prioritize emails
Inbox introduces you to amazing features of Reminders and Snooze. Reminders is similar to Gmail’s Tasks and Snooze is similar to Boomerang add-on. To set Snooze, you can press the clock at the top or swipe the email left from your inbox. Now, you can set either default time options or pick your own date/time and Google Inbox will drop the email into top of inbox again at the set time. To set a reminder, click the red + button and choose blue finger icon. Now, type in the reminder and set a time. Also, you can set location-based reminder. Your reminders will appear in your inbox.
5) Easy to manage labels and bundles
Google Inbox comes with exciting feature of labels and bundles. Labels are used to sort your incoming emails. For example, you can set filters in creating labels so that your emails will be sorted accordingly. On the other hand, Bundles collect all new mail for that label in one spot. Each label has its bundle and bundling helps to keep your inbox organized and well-managed.
